02 Biography
In the 2022/23 season Vincenzo Neri will make important house and role debuts. He will debut at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago as Rambaldo in "La Rondine", as well as at the Theater St. Gallen as Eisenstein in a new production of "Die Fledermaus", as Papageno in "Die Zauberflöte" at the Hamburg State Opera and as Kurwenal at the Vlaamse Opera in a new production of "Tristan und Isolde". At the Opéra de Rouen he will appear in Wim Henderickx's "The Convert" as David, Shipowner, Embriachi and Commander.
Vincenzo Neri began singing at the age of eight in Hamburg's St. Nikolai Boys' Choir. As a boy soprano, he took on his first soloist roles at the Hamburg State Opera and the Kiel Opera House.
After private vocal studies in the studio of Prof. Günter Binge, at the age of only twenty, Vincenzo Neri made his debut at the Seefestspiele in Berlin as Moralès in Bizet's "Carmen", directed by Volker Schlöndorff.
In the seasons 2013/14 and 2014/15 Vincenzo Neri was a member of the prestigious opera studio of the Hamburg State Opera, where he was last heard as Belcore in "L'elisir d'amore".
In the following two seasons he was a member of the renowned International Opera Studio of the Berlin State Opera and making house debuts in Oper Halle, the Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp, the National Theater Mannheim and the Jennersdorf Festival.
In 2017, Vincenzo Neri made an important debut at the famous Bregenz Festival as Conte Almaviva in "Le nozze di Figaro.“
The following seasons Vincenzo Neri became an ensemble member at the Staatstheater Braunschweig, where he sang roles such as Albert in „Werther“, Peter in "Hänsel und Gretel," Marcello in "La Bohème" and Danilo in "Die lustige Witwe."
In 2018, Vincenzo Neri made his Wagnerian debut as Heerrufer in "Lohengrin" at the Vlaamse Opera.
In season 2019/20, Vincenzo Neri made his debut at the Nederlandse Reisopera as Onegin in "Eugene Onegin“. He also performed in, Leipzig Opera, Opera Cologne and Grand Théâtre de Genève, Stadttheater Giessen.
As an ensemble member of Opera Bonn, he has appeared, among others, as Peter in "Hansel and Gretel", Pallante in "Agrippina", Falke in "Die Fledermaus" and in a concert performance of "Carmina Burana".
